Every gamer’s infatuation with a virtual world comes to life with total control of the life of a superhuman character in a world designed to give a history lesson in some way or another. Whether it is playing as a native hunter, ex-marine, frontline soldier or a Special Forces team, every game heightens the senses and perception of what it would be like to live the life of the world’s most awesome units.
In Far Cray Primal, after crafting a weapon and escaping the tiger, you find yourself using a hunter’s sense to track another animal. Engaging your senses, the screen turns dark highlighting blood trails and footprints as you make your way through a series of caves and grass fields.
Takkar stumbles into a cave where he finds a woman who immediately rejects him as an ally. Suddenly a tiger rises from the darkness and attacks this strange new person, who fights off the tiger and then helps Takkar escape from the clutches of death.
Sayla, the new acquaintance, squeezes through a gap in the cave wall to come out in vast grasslands of trees, flowers and rivers running across the entire landscape. Takkar has found a new friend, a new family.
Based around rebuilding a tribe and saving his people from the many forms of threat and capture, Takkar sets out into the world to make his tribe whole again, able to survive as a family. Filled with dholes, wolves, jaguars, leopards, lions, sabretooth tigers, badgers, deer, elk, bear, mammoths, elephants and rhinos, Far Cry Primal offers a huge open world to travel around while fighting to stay alive.
Skills can be learned such as beast tamer, which allows Takkar to befriend the very animals attacking him. Techniques are learned to become a better tracker, hunter, scavenger and fighter as Takkar progresses through that world.
Day turns to night and fills the vast land with darkness only illuminated by the fire at the end of a torch. Seasons change as time goes on. Winter approaches and hinders the ability to stay alive if clothing is not crafted from the skins of animals and various parts found throughout the realm before the times turn cold.
With absolute control over everything necessary to stay alive and rebuild a fallen tribe, Takkar must find new friends and save his people from whatever the world throws his way. Are you, the gamer, ready for the fate of a tribe to fall upon your shoulders?
